Venice by boat
Land routes and waterways. This tour starts with an introductory walk through the city centre to discover less touristy areas that will give a good survey of Venice, on foot. The tour continues in a water-taxi to give a more complete vision and understanding of Venice identity. Nothing better than going up the canals on a boat gives the right perception of a city built on the water.
The Grand Canal – ‘Canalazzo’ for the Venetians – is still the main street of the city. We navigate through 8 centuries of history. Each facade has a style, each building has an identity, whether it was the residence of a rich merchant or a church or the headquarters of a foreign community. We travel along minor canals to admire the fragile beauty of Venice. The tour ends back in St. Mark’s square.
